\nPakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader from tribal district Khyber Saeedullah Khan Afridi has accused PML-N leader and Prime Minister Coordinator on Information for KP Ikhtiar Wali of creating discord between the federation and the province through what he described as \u201canti-tribal statements.\u201d
\nSaeedullah, deputy general secretary of PTI for Khyber district, demanded that the federal government take immediate notice and remove Ikhtiar Wali from his position.
\nAddressing a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club (PPC) along with tribal elders and PTI leaders from Bara, Saeedullah Afridi said that Ikhtiar Wali\u2019s remarks were an insult to the tribal communities who have stood on the front lines against terrorism for two decades.
\nHe said the tribes suffered massive losses, yet remained loyal to the state, and accusing them of involvement in narcotics smuggling was \u201cracial prejudice and a violation of political ethics.\u201d
\nHe added that the Afridi tribe has always played a key role in defending the country and continues to fight terrorism. Saeedullah claimed that Ikhtiar Wali\u2019s statements stem from the growing popularity of PTI in KP and the leadership of Sohail Afridi.
\nHe demanded that Ikhtiar Wali publicly apologize to the tribes and retract his remarks. Otherwise, he said, the Prime Minister should remove him from office. He also criticized the ongoing operation in Tirah, alleging that civilians were being targeted.
\nSaeedullah Afridi announced that a jirga of the Afridi tribes will soon be held in Bara to decide future action, which may include protests or legal proceedings.
