\nPESHAWAR
\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Irrigation, Riaz Khan, paid a detailed visit to the Budhni area of Peshawar on Wednesday, where he reviewed the ongoing development activities along both sides of the canal, including protective embankments, cleanliness measures, and overall drainage arrangements.
\nSecretary Irrigation Muhammad Ayaz, the Chief Engineer, and other relevant officials were also present on the occasion, a handout said.
\nDuring the visit, the concerned officers briefed the Provincial Irrigation Minister on the progress of ongoing development works.
\nMinister Riaz Khan directed the authorities to accelerate the construction and strengthening of protective embankments around Budhni Nullah and the adjoining canal passages, ensuring the protection of citizens\u2019 lives, property, and essential infrastructure in case of any potential flooding.
\nRiaz Khan stated that Budhni Nullah passes through one of the busiest and most sensitive areas of Peshawar, where even minor delays can cause difficulties for the public.
\nHe stated that no compromise would be made on timely completion of cleanliness operations, debris removal, improvement of drainage systems, and reinforcement of protective structures.
\nThe Minister further emphasized that, in line with the special instructions of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi, the provincial government is prioritizing public safety, effective drainage, flood mitigation, and the strengthening of critical infrastructure.
\nHe said that ensuring transparency, quality, and speed in all development projects is essential under the Chief Minister\u2019s vision.
\nHe strictly directed the concerned authorities to complete all tasks on a priority basis and in accordance with the highest standards.<\/p>\n
The Provincial Irrigation Minister added that the government considers public relief and citizen safety a core responsibility, which is why all departments under the leadership of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi are taking urgent and coordinated measures through a comprehensive strategy. Riaz Khan expressed his resolve that the ongoing projects around Budhni Nullah will be completed soon, providing the public with a safer and improved environment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
