ISLAMABAD: National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) meteorology expert Faiza Ghus warned on Wednesday that Pakistan could see shrinking winters, prolonged summers and substantially heavier monsoon rains by 2026, as the authority prepared for heightened provincial-level readiness. She highlighted the importance of community awareness, pointing out that the NDMA has introduced alert systems through mobile applications to keep citizens updated during weather-related emergencies. Tourism advisories are also being issued regularly, especially for areas exposed to sudden weather shifts.
