\nChief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, addressing the media outside Adiala Jail following an overnight sit-in, expressed deep concern over the non-implementation of court orders concerning PTI founding Chairman Imran Khan.
\nA statement issued stated CM KP warned that continued disregard for judicial directives could push the country towards lawlessness, forcing individuals to seek justice on their own and resulting in chaos and irreversible damage to the state.
\nAfridi highlighted that despite clear orders from three judges of the Islamabad High Court regarding meetings with Imran Khan, he and other party leaders have been repeatedly denied access. \u201cI remained outside the jail throughout the day, night, and into the morning, yet no meeting was allowed despite all efforts,\u201d he said.
\nThe Chief Minister stressed that all constitutional and legal avenues to meet Imran Khan have been exhausted. \u201cEven after submitting the names of six party members, including cabinet members and parliamentarians, none were permitted to meet him,\u201d he added. He also recalled that Imran Khan\u2019s sisters were previously prevented from visiting him, subjected to rough and degrading treatment outside Adiala Jail.
\nAfridi condemned these actions as deliberate attempts to break Imran Khan. He also strongly criticized the ongoing harassment of Bushra Bibi, describing her as a dignified and respectable woman being subjected to undue mental and physical distress to pressure Imran Khan.
\nThe Chief Minister further noted that Imran Khan is being denied contact with his family, and even basic necessities and essential winter items are not being delivered, despite harsh weather conditions. He emphasized that such actions have no place in a civilized society.
\nReflecting on the broader implications, Afridi compared the current restrictions to the past treatment of political figures who fled abroad, noting that previously they could openly meet with families and party delegations.
