The dengue situation in Islamabad has remained steady for several days, with the district administration reporting only one new patient in the last 24 hours.
\nWhile, rural areas continued to show zero cases, and one case was confirmed from the urban side of the city.
\nAccording to the administration, the improvement is the result of coordinated planning, strict monitoring and timely action across the capital. Officials said these steps have helped stabilize dengue trends and limit the spread of the virus.
\nAs part of the ongoing anti-dengue drive, teams conducted fogging at 772 locations and carried out spray operations at 35 residential sites. Inspectors also visited 22,438 spots across the city in a single day to check for larvae, stagnant water and possible breeding points.
\nHealth officials confirmed that five dengue patients are currently admitted in different hospitals. Their condition is stable and they are receiving uninterrupted medical care.
\nDuring recent inspections, no larvae were detected in open areas, according to the field teams. However, larvae were found at 10 points categorized as commercial hotspots. The administration reported that immediate action was taken at all these locations, including removal of breeding sources and follow-up checks.
\n Daily larvae testing also showed no negative reports from any part of the city, indicating that monitoring and preventive measures are functioning as planned.
\nDeputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Memon said continuous mapping, strict follow-up and public participation have played a key role in reducing dengue risks. He added that hospital facilities remain fully operational for patients under treatment.
\nMemon also stated that several individuals were taken into custody for violating dengue Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). These violations included ignoring instructions on cleanliness, water storage and removal of potential breeding spots.
\nThe Deputy Commissioner called for complete cooperation from the public, saying administrative efforts can only deliver long-term results if residents follow preventive guidelines. He noted that even with low case numbers, the anti-dengue activities will not be paused.
\nFogging, inspections and awareness campaigns will continue without interruption in all urban and rural sectors of the capital, he added.
