ISLAMABAD: The dengue situation in Islamabad has remained steady for several days, with the district administration reporting only one new patient in the last 24 hours. While, rural areas continued to show zero cases, and one case was confirmed from the urban side of the city. According to the administration, the improvement is the result of coordinated planning, strict monitoring and timely action across the capital. Officials said these steps have helped stabilize dengue trends and limit the spread of the virus. As part of the ongoing anti-dengue drive, teams conducted fogging at 772 locations and carried out spray operations at 35 residential sites. Inspectors also visited 22,438 spots across the city in a single day to check for larvae, stagnant water and possible breeding points. Health officials confirmed that five dengue patients are currently admitted in different hospitals. Their condition is stable and they are receiving uninterrupted medical care. During recent inspections, no larvae were detected in open areas, according to the field teams. However, larvae were found at 10 points categorized as commercial hotspots.
