ISLAMABAD
\nThe Federal Minister for Health, Mustafa Kamal, held a high-level meeting with a Sudanese delegation led by the Federal Secretary of Health of Sudan.
\nThe meeting was also attended by Pakistan\u2019s Federal Secretary Health, Hamid Yaqoob, along with senior officials from the Ministry of National Health Services.
\nAccording to ministry of health on Monday, during the meeting, the Minister reaffirmed that Pakistan attaches great importance to its brotherly relations with Sudan and highly values Sudan\u2019s interest in strengthening cooperation with Pakistan in the health sector.
\nHe appreciated the constructive engagement of the Sudanese delegation and underscored Pakistan\u2019s commitment to expand collaboration across multiple areas of healthcare.
\nThe Sudanese delegation briefed the Federal Minister on the current challenges being faced by Sudan\u2019s health sector and shared details of a comprehensive five-year strategic framework developed by Sudan, encompassing approximately 45 health-related projects.
\nThe delegation sought Pakistan\u2019s cooperation in the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the health sector, provision of medical equipment and technologies, restoration of solar energy solutions for health facilities, and enhancement of institutional collaboration.
\nHe stated that Pakistan is ready to support the training of Sudanese medical personnel, facilitate the exchange of experts, and promote knowledge and experience sharing. <\/p>\n
The Sudanese delegation also expressed appreciation for Pakistan\u2019s continued support and conveyed confidence that the visit would pave the way for improved coordination and a more effective partnership between the two countries.Reiterating Pakistan\u2019s resolve, the Federal Minister emphasized that Pakistan remains fully committed to further strengthening health-sector cooperation with Sudan.<\/p>\n
The Minister highlighted that pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and regulatory matters fall within the mandate of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), and noted Pakistan\u2019s ongoing progress towards achieving WHO Regulatory Maturity Level 3.
\nHe also reaffirmed Pakistan\u2019s commitment to promoting medical tourism, stating that matters related to visa facilitation would be advanced through consultations with Pakistani diplomatic missions. To ensure effective and timely progress, it was shared that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would expedite the process of finalizing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) through close coordination.
\nConcluding the meeting, the Federal Minister assured that Pakistan will continue to extend comprehensive support to Sudan in emergency response, recovery, capacity building, and the development of long-term partnerships in the health sector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
