KP govt committed to tech-led governance, says Shafi Jan

\nSpecial Assistant to the Chief Minister for Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan on Thursday claimed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa\u2019s digital transformation had gained significant international recognition as the province\u2019s flagship Dastak App secured first position in the Government and Citizen Services category at the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards 2025 held in Taiwan, where 17 countries participated.
\nHe said that the achievement was a powerful endorsement of the provincial government\u2019s commitment to technology-led governance, transparent service delivery, and citizen-centric digital reforms.
\n\u201cThose accusing the government of \u2018bad governance\u2019 should first evaluate their own performance,\u201d he said.
\n\u201cThe global success of the Dastak App is a clear reflection of our practical efforts to bring services to citizens\u2019 doorsteps and eliminate corruption through technology.\u201d
\nHighlighting the significance of the award, Shafi Jan said the app has emerged as an international model of transparency, AI integration, and efficient public service delivery.
\nWinning the category after 14 years, he noted, demonstrates that KP was leading Pakistan\u2019s digital future.
\nHe revealed that only two Pakistani digital solutions\u2013KP\u2019s \u201cDastak App\u201d and the \u201cTourist Information Management System\u201d\u2013qualified as finalists.
\nBoth received appreciation from global ICT experts, and several countries have expressed strong interest in adopting KP\u2019s digital governance frameworks.
\nCalling it a \u201crevolutionary step,\u201d Shafi Jan explained that the Dastak App enables citizens to obtain a wide range of government services from home, including: arms licenses, excise registrations, educational scholarship applications, property tax payments, and various other services.
\nThe Special Assistant emphasized that this progress reflects the practical realization of PTI founding chairman Imran Khan\u2019s digital governance vision. The KP digital model, he said, has now become a benchmark for other provinces.
\nHe shared that work on the \u201cCashless Khyber Pakhtunkhwa\u201d initiative is progressing rapidly, with 33 government services soon to be fully digitized to ensure seamless, paperless governance.
\nReferring to Transparency International\u2019s latest survey, Shafi Jan said the report confirms that the provincial government is effectively curbing corruption while aggressively promoting technology-driven reforms.
