He stated that the use of force against women and peaceful protesters is a shameful act and amounts to a blatant violation of constitutional rights.<br \/>\nReferring to the international reaction to the solitary confinement of PTI Founder Chairman Imran Khan, Shafi Jan said that the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture, Alice Jill Edwards, has urged the Federal Government to take immediate and effective steps to end the inhuman and degrading detention of Imran Khan. According to Alice Jill Edwards, the prevailing conditions may fall within the definition of torture or cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment.<br \/>\nAlice Jill Edwards, he said, has demanded that the conditions of Imran Khan\u2019s detention be fully brought in line with international norms and standards. Imran Khan has reportedly been confined to a single cell for 23 hours a day, with extremely limited contact with the outside world.
