MARDAN
\nWomen University Mardan (WUM) successfully concluded its two-day 10th International Conference titled \u201cBuilding a Sustainable Future: Transforming Governance and Education through Innovative Policy Reforms\u201d at Alhamra, Mardan. The event brought together distinguished national and international scholars, policymakers, academicians, and researchers to deliberate on contemporary challenges and future pathways in governance and education.
\nDuring the conference, Dr. Minhaj ul Hassan, Former Dean, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Peshawar, addressed the role of Artificial Intelligence in education, emphasizing that policymakers must understand the needs and challenges of the teaching community while formulating education policies.
\nProf. Dr. Abdul Malik Abdul Karim from Malaysia highlighted the global imperative for sustainable education, stressing the need for resilient and inclusive educational systems. National keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Wasima Shahzad, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Air University Islamabad, spoke on climate-resilient education and curriculum alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Pakistan.
\nThe closing ceremony was graced by Dr. Muhammad Israr, Secretary, Higher Education Department (HED), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who highlighted the importance of consultation, feedback, and strong institutional frameworks in policymaking. Prof. Dr. Ghazala Yasmeen, Vice Chancellor, Women University Swabi, attended as a distinguished guest.
\nProf. Dr. Razia Sultana, Vice Chancellor of Women University Mardan and Patron-in-Chief of the conference, formally concluded the event. She emphasized Pakistan\u2019s commitment to empowering its youth, particularly women, through modern education and technology, and highlighted the university\u2019s efforts to maximize opportunities provided by the HEC, HED, and the wider community. She also appreciated the contributions of all keynote speakers, presenters, participants, organizers, and guests for making the conference a success.
