CM aide says conducive environment key for talks with opposition

\nSpecial Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations, Shafi Jan, on Monday reaffirmed that the friendship between Pakistan and China is enduring, time-tested, and vital for Pakistan\u2019s economic development, while visiting the Pak-China Cultural Center (China Window) in Peshawar.
\nDuring the visit, Center Administrator Amjad Aziz Malik briefed the Special Assistant on the center\u2019s activities and gave him a detailed tour of various sections of the Pak-China Window, highlighting efforts to promote cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the two countries.
\nShafi Jan also distributed certificates among students who successfully completed training in digital media skills.
\nAddressing the ceremony, he said that China has consistently supported Pakistan through investments in multiple sectors and has achieved remarkable progress in areas including agriculture, industry, and technology.
\nHe said the provincial government was working on the Lift Canal project to stabilize and strengthen the agricultural sector in KP. He appreciated the role of China Window Peshawar in strengthening Pak-China relations and promoting cultural ties at the grassroots level.
\nCongratulating the students, Shafi Jan said that digital media and modern skills are indispensable in the present era.
\nThe CM aide on information stressed that equipping youth with contemporary technological skills was a pressing need of the time and termed skilled youth as the bright future of the nation.
\nHe added that the provincial government was taking practical steps to align young people with modern market requirements and assured full cooperation from the government, stating that its doors were always open to the public, especially the youth.
\nLater, while speaking to the media, Shafi Jan said that KP was ahead of other provinces in terms of good governance.
\nReferring to a recent report by Transparency International, he claimed that the Punjab Police and Punjab government were declared the most corrupt in the country.
\nHe said that Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi effectively presented the province\u2019s case on the NFC Award, and seminars were organized at various universities to raise awareness among students and youth regarding the issue.
\nCommenting on federal funding, Shafi Jan said the federal government had released only Rs 550 million to KP under the PSDP, calling it discriminatory treatment.
\nMr Jan demanded that details of funds allocated to other provinces should also be made public.
\nResponding to a question about negotiations, he said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) believes in dialogue but stressed that a conducive environment was essential.
\nHe said false cases were being registered against party leadership and workers while talks of negotiations were being discussed.
\nCriticizing the federal government, Shafi Jan said the mandate of PTI had been usurped and claimed that frequent press conferences by federal and Punjab ministers reflected their fear of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi\u2019s performance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
