Cabinet approves establishment of two Takaful companies in the province

\nThe Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet, in its 44th meeting chaired by Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi, approved a supplementary grant of Rs 3,825 million to expand the Safe Cities Project in the province.
\nSpeaking at a press conference after the meeting, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan said that the first phase of the project in Peshawar has already seen significant progress, with up to 80 percent of work completed on key targets. The second phase will cover districts including D.I. Khan, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, and Waziristan, he added.
\nHe said the additional funding was required due to the expanded scope of the project, which aims to strengthen security, surveillance systems, and public safety across major districts.
\nThe cabinet also approved the establishment of two Takaful companies under Islamic principles, allocating Rs 2 billion for the KP General Takaful Company and Rs 3 billion for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Family Takaful Company. These companies will provide health coverage and financial support for families in case of the death of a family head.
\nIn addition, the cabinet directed accelerated work on development projects in merged districts, with health and education declared as top priorities.
\nFinancial assistance was approved for flood-affected individuals and businesses, martyrs\u2019 families, and civilians affected by conflict. The Ehsaas Education Internship Program was also launched with an initial allocation of Rs 207 million to provide internships to 850 talented youth annually. Security and infrastructure needs around the Rashakai CPEC Economic Zone were addressed with Rs 199 million approved, while six Basic Health Units in Peshawar will be upgraded to Rural Health Centers.
\nThe Chief Minister condemned recent incidents of harassment against KP officials in Punjab, calling them \u201cundemocratic and unethical,\u201d and stressed national unity.
\nHe also instructed provincial officers to provide exemplary hospitality to all visiting delegations.
\nThe meeting was attended by senior provincial officials, administrative secretaries, and legal advisors, with decisions aimed at strengthening governance, public services, and overall development across the province.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
