\nMinister for higher education Meena Khan Afridi has announced key decisions to resolve concerns surrounding the Allied Health Sciences degree across the province.
\nIn a statement issued here on Wednesday, the minister addressed ongoing challenges faced by students and universities and set forth measures to improve the professional capacity of the program.
\nIn a crucial meeting aimed at addressing the anxiety among students enrolled in Allied Health Sciences programs, Meena Khan Afridi emphasized the government\u2019s commitment to resolving ongoing challenges.
\nIt is pertinent to mention here that several universities across the province have been grappling with issues related to the professional development of students pursuing these degrees.
\nMinister Afridi assured that in the future, no public or private university would be allowed to arbitrarily allocate seats in Allied Health Sciences programs.
\nHe stressed that seat allocation would be based on the quality of the educational offerings, ensuring that students receive the best possible training.
\nAttended by notable officials, including Vice Chancellor Dr. Zafar of University of Gomal University in Dera Ismail Khan and representatives from Khyber Medical University (KMU), the meeting underscored the need for a structured approach to these issues.
\nAfridi directed the formation of a task force committee, composed of all relevant stakeholders, to address and eliminate technical challenges facing the program.
\nThe Minister also reassured students that their degrees would remain valid regardless of the current challenges, stating that enrolled students would continue their education in accordance with the procedures set by their respective universities.
\nA key decision made in the meeting was the establishment of a task force under the Department of Higher Education, which will immediately develop a standardized procedure for Allied Health Sciences. Additionally, students will have access to internships to further enhance their professional skills.
