\nThe Senior Member of the Board of Revenue (SMBR) for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amir Sultan Tareen on Wednesday paid a visit to the Settlement & Digitization of Land Records (SDLR) Project. According to a statement, during the visit Amir Sultan Tareen was briefed on the comprehensive objectives, progress, and future plans of the initiative.
\nThe SDLR Project aims to modernize land record-keeping through accurate, transparent, and GIS-based systems, ensuring long-term improvements in governance and socio-economic development across the province.
\nAt the briefing, the Project Director, along with senior officers, outlined the project\u2019s scope, emphasizing key areas such as field settlement operations, advanced survey techniques, digitization of legacy records, establishment of GIS databases, and enhanced service delivery mechanisms.
\nThe SMBR was updated on the project\u2019s achievements, ongoing activities across several districts, and the challenges encountered during the implementation process, the statement said.
\nPlans for the procurement of essential equipment and capacity-building initiatives for project staff were also highlighted as part of future actions.
\nSpeaking on the occasion, the SMBR emphasized the importance of completing the project on time, adhering to approved standards.
\nHe stressed that the digitization of land records is a cornerstone of good governance, with significant implications for transparency, efficient dispute resolution, and fostering socio-economic growth.
\nMr Tareen issued directives to streamline processes and enhance coordination among all involved stakeholders.
