\nA closing ceremony was held at Allama Iqbal Open University for a five-week capacity-building workshop on research methodology aimed at promoting a research culture and enhancing the professional skills of the faculty. The ceremony was presided over by Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood.
\nIn his presidential address, Dr. Nasir emphasized the importance of high-quality research and highlighted the need to improve research standards through interdisciplinary collaboration. He further stated that regular training sessions are essential to enhance researchers\u2019 capabilities, keeping them up-to-date with new trends and modern methods, thereby promoting quality and utility in research.
\nDr. Nasir specifically stressed the importance of interdisciplinary research, noting that collaboration among experts from different fields not only allows for comprehensive solutions to problems but also makes research outcomes more effective and actionable.
\nThe workshop was organized by the Directorate of Quality Enhancement and attended by 70 faculty members from the Faculty of Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies.
\nDuring the workshop, key topics covered included research design, data collection, quantitative and qualitative research, statistical analysis, research ethics and the requirements for publication in international journals.
\nExpert resource persons guided participants through practical examples and modern research tools. These included Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood, Dr. Irshad Ahmed Arshad, Dr. Irfan Mustafa, and Dr. Zafar Iqbal Lallah.
\nAt the closing ceremony, participants expressed that the workshop was extremely useful and conveyed confidence that the training received would significantly enhance their research capabilities.
\nFinally, the Vice Chancellor praised the organizers and resource persons for the successful completion of the workshop and reaffirmed the university\u2019s commitment to aligning research standards with global benchmarks through similar programs in the future.
