President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday paid tribute to the Pakistan Air Force for the successful test of its indigenously developed Taimoor Air-Launched Cruise Missile.
\nIn a statement from the Presidency, the president underscored that the production of modern weapons at the local level is a clear reflection of national capability, determination, and institutional prowess.
\nPresident Zardari said the successful test of the weapon by the Pakistan Air Force has further strengthened the country\u2019s defense and strengthened its responsible defense policy for stability in the region.
\n\u201cThis success is a significant step forward in the journey of self-reliance in national defense,\u201d the president said.
\nPresident Zardari appreciated the hard work, professional dedication, and spirit of national service of scientists, engineers, and officers and men of the Pakistan Air Force.
\nThe president noted that the promotion of modern technology in the defense sector is an expression of Pakistan\u2019s commitment to safeguarding its security and sovereignty.
\nIn a separate statement, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif felicitated the nation and the Pakistan Air Force on the successful test of the indigenously developed Taimoor Weapon System by the Pakistan Air Force.
\nThe prime minister paid tribute to Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, scientists, and engineers working on the missile system.
\nPM Shehbaz acknowledged the recognition of the professionalism, dedication, and unwavering commitment of the Pakistan Air Force to strengthen the country\u2019s defense capabilities.
