Its 1.64 million deliveries were topped by BYD\u2019s 2.26 million battery-powered vehicles sold last year, CGTN reported on Saturday.<br \/>\nBYD, an automaker that manufactures both electric vehicles and internal combustion engine vehicles, is primarily driven by the growth of its electric vehicle sector. Sales of battery-powered vehicles surged by nearly 28 percent in 2025, significantly contributing to the overall growth of 7.73 percent in all new car deliveries.<br \/>\nBYD\u2019s overseas expansion, despite the hefty U.S. tariff, has made ground in Europe, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
