Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, on Wednesday held a meeting with Federal Minister for Health Mustafa Kamal to discuss challenges and ongoing initiatives in the health sector of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
\nDuring the meeting, Governor Kundi emphasized the importance of federal government support to improve healthcare facilities in the province, particularly in the merged districts and other underdeveloped areas.
\nHe stressed the need to launch modern medical projects to ensure access to quality treatment for people living in remote and marginalized regions.
\nFederal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal assured full cooperation in strengthening the healthcare system of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
\nHe said that special attention is being given to the health sector across the country and that the federal government is working closely with the provinces to combat diseases and improve public health outcomes. He added that health sector reforms are being implemented at a fast pace.
\nThe federal minister further said that a comprehensive strategy has been formulated to reduce the patient burden on major hospitals. Primary healthcare is being strengthened through digital health initiatives, and the telemedicine system has already been launched to expand access to medical services.
\nGovernor Faisal Karim Kundi said that coordinated efforts between the federal and provincial governments are essential to protect the public from diseases.
\nHe urged that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should be given priority under the National Health Support Program.
