\nPM\u2019s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah on Wednesday expressed concern over the PTI\u2019s stance, warning that the federal government had the constitutional authority to impose governor\u2019s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and that continued confrontation by the PTI founder would invite serious consequences, while dismissing the party\u2019s planned protest as bound to fail.While speaking to a local news channel, Rana Sanaullah hailed the DG ISPR\u2019 s press conference the other day, describing his remarks as clear and important.
\nHe said the government had responsibly offered a dialogue with the PTI three times on the floor of the house through the Prime Minister, but the party did not respond. Now, he added, PTI has again planned a protest, which is likely to fail, criticizing the PTI chairman for pursuing politics through street movements and unrest. He also condemned the May 9 incidents of violence and anarchy, saying such actions would not be tolerated.
\nRegarding Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sanaullah accused the provincial PTI government of obstructing counter-terrorism operations and said their actions demonstrated alignment with the enemies\u2019 narrative instead of cooperation with the state.He emphasized that the federal government was fully aware of the situation and had constitutional options to act, including the imposition of governor\u2019s rule in KP.
\nWhen asked directly about the possibility of governor\u2019s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sanaullah replied that the government has options available and will not hesitate to use them if the PTI continues to defy the state, underscoring that any further protest or street agitation by the party would be doomed to fail.
\nRana Sanaullah criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government\u2019s conduct, describing their behavior as irresponsible and saying their stance on key issues remains unclear and unacceptable. He added that the PTI\u2019s attitude is unjustifiable and emphasized that the nation expects answers and accountability from them. He further pointed out that no Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has been established yet, highlighting the government\u2019s failure to prioritize security and development.
\nRana Sanaullah stated that terrorist and criminal activities continue unabated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the provincial government has failed to take any effective action.
