\nA special delegation of lawmakers elected from Peshawar for National and Provincial Assemblies was given a detailed briefing on the law and order situation in at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines.
\nAccording to a statement, the briefing also included a comprehensive presentation on the performance of Peshawar Police over the past four months.
\nThe delegation, which included prominent lawmakers from ruling party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa PTI such as MNA Asif Khan, MNA Arbab Sher Ali, MPA Samiullah, MPA Fazal Elahi, and others, was welcomed by CCPO Peshawar Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed.
\nUpon arrival, a well-dressed police contingent saluted the delegation, and they paid tribute by laying flowers at the Martyrs\u2019 Memorial, offering prayers for the elevation of the ranks of fallen police officers.
\nThe delegation was briefed on the effective and successful operations carried out by Peshawar Police against various criminal elements, including dangerous gangsters, occupation mafias, extortionists, target killers, and individuals involved in illegal property occupations, murder, and robbery.
\nThese actions have significantly contributed to maintaining peace and order in the city.
\nDuring the briefing, CCPO Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed discussed the overall law and order situation in the provincial capital, outlining current security challenges, police reforms, and the efforts made to combat terrorism.
\nHe also shed light on available resources, challenges faced by the police force, and openly discussed general issues of public concern.
\nCCPO Peshawar highlighted key achievements over the last four months, including successful operations against street criminals, social media influencers promoting violence and obscenity, and individuals engaged in illegal activities like aerial firing.
\nThe police force also dismantled illegal and private jirgas, recovering millions of rupees from jirga leaders and returning the funds to the affected parties.
\nIn addition to combating street crimes, the delegation was briefed on efforts against drug dealers, illegal arms holders, and other criminal elements, as well as the resolution of public grievances through open courts and Dispute Resolution Councils (DRCs). The police department\u2019s commitment to transparency in law enforcement and punishment was also emphasized.
\nThe special delegation expressed deep appreciation for the courage, professionalism, and effectiveness displayed by Peshawar Police in its operations.
