\nThe true purpose of education is to impart awareness, provide dignified employment, social standing and practical skills so that individuals can live respectable lives themselves and play an effective role in the country\u2019s social and economic development\u201d said the Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University(AIOU), Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood while speaking about admissions for the Spring Semester 2026.
\nHe stated that the university\u2019s foremost priority is to ensure that its graduates are not merely degree holders but are employable, skilled and confident in practical fields. In line with this vision AIOU has introduced 12 new postgraduate diploma programs in the Spring Semester 2026 in addition to programs ranging from Matriculation to PhD.
\nAdmission forms, prospectuses and detailed information for these diploma programs are available on the university\u2019s website www.aiou.edu.pk. The last date for admissions is February 10.
\nAccording to the Vice Chancellor all these postgraduate diploma programs are market-based and focus on skills and practical learning.
\nThey have been designed in view of current national and international employment requirements. The objective of these programs is to equip students with skills aligned with modern demands so that they can successfully enter practical life immediately after completing their education.
\nProf. Dr. Nasir Mahmood further emphasized that the university wants its graduates to attain a respectable position in society, earn a livelihood with dignity and contribute positively to national development. This philosophy forms the foundation of Allama Iqbal Open University\u2019s policies and educational reforms.
