Afridi announces major public rally at Karachi\u2019s Jinnah Ground on Sunday

\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister of Muhammad Sohail Afridi has strongly criticized the political situation in Sindh, accusing President Asif Ali Zardari of dismantling the political legacy of Benazir Bhutto and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
\nSpeaking at a reception hosted by Syed Zain Shah, Chairman of the Sindh United Party, during his visit to Jamshoro, Afridi said that Sindh was now firmly under Zardari\u2019s control, which he lamented as a setback to the province\u2019s democratic and constitutional principles.
\nAfridi accused Zardari and his party of undermining the Constitution, specifically through the controversial 26th and 27th Amendments, which he argued had destroyed the democratic structure of the country.
\nAt the same event, Afridi extended his support to the Sindh United Party\u2019s ongoing struggle for the fundamental rights of the people of Sindh. He described the party\u2019s active engagement in this cause as essential for bolstering democratic values in the province. He also pledged that, despite the government\u2019s attempts to suppress political dissent, a public rally would still be held at Jinnah Garden in Karachi to send a clear message that Sindh belongs to Imran Khan and his vision for a free and sovereign Pakistan.
\nThe Chief Minister emphasized that the people of Sindh had grown weary of the status quo and were no longer willing to tolerate the current regime\u2019s oppressive practices.
\nAfridi reaffirmed the nationwide struggle for \u201creal freedom\u201d under the leadership of Imran Khan, which he described as a fight to safeguard free media, an independent judiciary, and the supremacy of the Constitution.
\nHe emphasized that this movement would continue until Imran Khan\u2019s vision for national sovereignty and constitutional supremacy is fully realized.
\nHe also revealed that preparations for a large-scale street movement are underway, with every conscious and patriotic citizen being approached to join the cause. \u201cWhenever Imran Khan gives the call, the public will respond in full strength,\u201d Afridi assured, adding that the movement would spread across Pakistan, with each city becoming a hub for mass mobilization.
\nEarlier in Karachi, Afridi addressed party workers in Qayyumabad, Korangi, and other areas. He remarked on the enthusiastic response from the public, which he said disproved claims that Imran Khan\u2019s political role had ended.
\nAfridi announced that a major public rally would be held at Jinnah Ground in Karachi on Sunday, promising that it would be one of the largest gatherings in the city\u2019s history.
\nAfridi further clarified that the street movement would not be limited to a single city but would sweep across Pakistan, with every urban center becoming a focal point for the nationwide protests. \u201cEvery city will become a D Chowk,\u201d he remarked, drawing a powerful analogy to the central location of protest and resistance.
\nDuring his media interaction, Afridi also spoke positively about the approach of the Sindh government.
\nWhile noting that the provincial government had yet to issue an NOC for holding a rally near Mazar-e-Quaid, he expressed optimism that the Sindh government would cooperate in organizing political gatherings for the people.
