\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Friday visited Tirah Valley to meet with victims affected by recent displacement due to military operation, listen to their grievances, and issue directives for urgent relief measures.
\nAddressing the displaced families, CM Afridi called the situation in Tirah \u201cunacceptable\u201d and reaffirmed his government\u2019s longstanding commitment to peace.
\n\u201cFrom day one, we have raised our voice for peace. We opposed the operation yesterday, we oppose it today, and we will not support a failed policy in the future. Only a policy developed in consultation with all stakeholders can bring permanent and sustainable peace,\u201d he said.
\nEmphasizing solidarity with the affected communities, Afridi added, \u201cI am one of you and will stand with you like a mountain until my death.\u201d
\nHe further declared that the protection and dignity of the Tirah victims was now his direct responsibility, warning that any negligence in addressing their problems would be intolerable.
\nThe Chief Minister instructed all relevant departments to take immediate measures to alleviate the hardships faced by the victims.
\nHe specifically directed that people should not be made to stand in long queues or face bureaucratic delays.
\nAs part of emergency measures, Afridi ordered the establishment of additional NADRA offices in the region to expedite the registration process.
\nCM Sohail Afridi to lead public rally in Hazara division today
\nSpecial Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan has said that Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi will lead a historic and grand public rally in Hazara Division on Saturday (today).
\nA statement issued here stated that the rally will start from Hattar Interchange and proceed via GT Road to Mansehra. Grand receptions will be accorded at Kangra, Sarai Saleh, Shah Maqsood, Lora Chowk, Mandian and Qalandarabad, while the Chief Minister will address public gatherings at Panian Chowk, Havelian Doraha, Fawara Chowk and Mansehra Bazaar. He added that a special welcome by the youth has also been arranged at Chamba Bridge.
\nShafi Jan said that since the general elections, undeclared restrictions have been imposed on the political activities of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf across the country. He stated that party leadership and workers, including founding chairman Imran Khan,were facing unjust imprisonment, while meetings with the founding chairman have been suspended for several months.
\nHe added that the party was being denied adequate political space for democratic and constitutional activities.
\nReferring to the street movement, Shafi Jan said that under these circumstances, the movement launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has emerged as an important step towards breaking the political deadlock.
\n\u201cHazara Division rally is part of the ongoing struggle to raise public awareness and safeguard democratic rights,\u201d he added.
