The proposed amendment, presented by Provincial Law Minister Aftab Alam, suggests granting the chairperson the authority to make temporary appointments to key positions, including Director Hospital, Director Medical, and Nursing Director, for up to 120 days. If the positions are not filled permanently within this timeframe, the temporary appointments can be extended, said the bill. The bill also outlines an appeals process for employees, allowing them to contest decisions made by the Board. Employees would first need to approach the Grievance Committee and then the Appellate Tribunal, with the Health Department providing secretariat support. The proposed changes aim to streamline the appointment process and provide a clear grievance mechanism for employees.
