A three-member bench headed by Justice Aamir Farooq issued a stay order on the Sindh High Court\u2019s decision after a preliminary hearing on an appeal filed by the Sindh government. The court also issued notices to all relevant parties. During the hearing, Justice Aamir Farooq observed that a Supreme Court of Pakistan ruling from 2024 was not applied retrospectively but was limited to a specific legal scope.Counsel for the Sindh government argued that the Sindh High Court had incorrectly interpreted the Supreme Court\u2019s verdict by stating that it would not apply to future cases or pending matters.
