{"id":527872,"date":"2026-01-27T07:36:42","date_gmt":"2026-01-27T02:36:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=527872"},"modified":"2026-01-27T07:36:42","modified_gmt":"2026-01-27T02:36:42","slug":"president-xi-calls-india-and-china-good-neighbours-friends-partners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/president-xi-calls-india-and-china-good-neighbours-friends-partners\/","title":{"rendered":"President Xi calls India and China \u2018good neighbours, friends, partners\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> Beijing<br \/>\nChina\u2019s President Xi Jinping said China and India were \u201cgood neighbours, friends and partners\u201d as he wished President Droupadi Murmu congratulations on the South Asian nation\u2019s Republic Day, the official Xinhua news agency reported on Monday.<br \/>\nXi said that over the past year, China-India relations have continued to improve and develop and are of \u201cgreat significance for maintaining and promoting world peace and prosperity,\u201d according to Xinhua.<br \/>\nXi said China has always believed that being \u201cgood neighbours, friends and partners\u201d is the right choice for both China and India.<br \/>\nHe referred to China and India as the \u201cdragon and the elephant dancing together,\u201d Xinhua said.<br \/>\nXi said he hoped that both sides would expand exchanges and cooperation and address each other\u2019s concerns to promote healthy and stable relations.<br \/>\nThe nuclear-armed Asian neighbours share a 3,800 km (2,400-mile) border that is poorly demarcated and has been disputed since the 1950s.<br \/>\nTies between the countries were shaken by a 2020 clash in which 20 Indian and four Chinese soldiers died in hand-to-hand combat.
