\nHARIPUR
\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi visited the Pak Austria Fachhochschule Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology in Haripur on Wednesday, inaugurating the newly established School of Medicine, Dentistry, and Allied Sciences.
\nDuring his visit, he emphasized the provincial government\u2019s commitment to modern education, peace, and development, while criticizing federal policies and highlighting the need for market-oriented curricula to combat unemployment.
\nThe Chief Minister praised the university administration for its rapid progress and lauded the institution for achieving self-sustainability in just five years. \u201cStrong leadership elevates institutions, while frequent leadership changes hinder development,\u201d he said, referring to the vision of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, under whose tenure the institution began.
\nCM Afridi announced plans to establish a modern university in the merged tribal districts modeled on the Fachhochschule system.
\nHe also highlighted efforts to introduce market-relevant courses across the province to prevent the production of unemployed graduates.
\nAddressing the issue of unrest in Tirah, the Chief Minister criticized operations and called for a permanent, consultative policy to ensure lasting peace.
\nHe stated that people in Tirah were forcibly displaced during heavy snowfall and accused certain political and federal leaders of neglecting the displaced population.
\n\u201cNo one leaves their home willingly,\u201d he said, stressing that the provincial government will continue to defend the rights of its people.
\nAt the fifth convocation of the University of Haripur, CM Afridi congratulated graduates and announced the establishment of a sub-campus in Ghazi, aiming to expand higher education access to district and tehsil levels.
\nSpeaking at Abbottabad University of Science and Technology, he highlighted the importance of female education, free education for intermediate-level girls and orphaned children, and the critical role of primary education in building a strong society.
\nCM Afridi also criticized federal mismanagement, citing delayed funds, unfulfilled promises, and declining GDP growth.
