World Bank President Ajay Banga has praised Sindh\u2019s community-led rehabilitation model, calling it a global example. He visited the flood-affected village of Bahawal Jutt in Taluka Dokri on Wednesday, where 145 houses have been reconstructed under the Sindh People\u2019s Housing for Flood Affected (SPHF) program.
\nBanga said that the program is providing safe housing, clean water, sanitation, better nutrition, and social inclusion, laying a strong foundation for human capital development. He appreciated the efforts of the Sindh government and the World Bank in implementing the program.
\nCM Sindh, Murad Ali Shah, said that the SPHF program is a historic initiative, aiming to reconstruct 21 lakh houses for flood victims, making it one of the largest rehabilitation efforts globally. He added that the program is empowering communities to rebuild their lives.
\nBanga inaugurated a memorial sapling of a guava tree and met with women at the community center, where he was presented with traditional Sindhi gifts.
