IBOs carried out in Orakzai, Khyber districts on reported presence of khawarij, says military\u2019s media wing

\nSecurity forces killed 24 terrorists belonging to Indian proxy Fitna al-Khawarij in two separate engagements carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.
\nThe military\u2019s media wing said that two intelligence-based operations were carried out in the Orakzai and Khyber districts of the province on the reported presence of the khawarij.
\n\u201cOn [the] reported presence of khwarij, an intelligence-based operation was conducted by the Security Forces in Orakzai District,\u201d the ISPR said.
\nIt added that during the operation, security forces engaged the khawarij hideout, and after an intense exchange of fire, 14 militants were killed.
\nAccording to the military\u2019s media wing, another intelligence-based operation was carried out by security forces in Khyber District, where 10 more khawarij were neutralised following a firefight.
\n\u201cSanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored kharji found in the area as relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision Azm e Istehkam […] will continue at full pace to wipe out menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,\u201d the ISPR added.
\nThe IBOs followed Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 1, during which at least 216 terrorists were killed after militants belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan carried out coordinated attacks targeting civilians across Balochistan.
\nThe ISPR said that 36 innocent civilians, including women and children, along with 22 security and law enforcement agencies personnel, embraced martyrdom in these operations.
\nBalochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti had said that around 200 militants attacked different parts of the province and deliberately used civilians as human shields during the attacks.
\nThe chief minister said Afghan soil is being used against Pakistan and maintained that militant leadership continued to operate from across the border.
\nPakistan has experienced a rise in cross-border terrorist incidents since the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan in 2021. The provinces of KP and Balochistan, which border Afghanistan, have been particularly affected by these attacks.
\nISPR Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, in his presser on January 6, said that law enforcement agencies carried out 75,175 IBOs across the country in 2025.
\nGiving a breakdown, he said 14,658 IBOs were conducted in KP, 58,778 in Balochistan, while 1,739 operations took place in the rest of the country.
\nLt Gen Chaudhry said that 5,397 terrorism incidents were reported nationwide during the last year. Of these, 3,811 incidents, he said, occurred in KP, 1,557 in Balochistan, and 29 incidents were reported in other parts of the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
