\nGovernor of Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan visited Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and Polyclinic Hospital in Islamabad to inquire after the victims injured in the suicide bombing in the Tarlai area of the federal capital. He met the injured, expressed heartfelt sympathy, and prayed for their early recovery.
\nCondemning the attack in the strongest terms, the Punjab Governor said that terrorists have no religion and innocent worshippers were martyred while offering prayers. He expressed deep grief over the martyrdom of innocent civilians and said that those who play with the lives of innocent people deserve no leniency.
\nSardar Saleem Haider Khan stated that under the leadership of Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan would uproot Fitna al-Khawarij from the country. He said that Indian-sponsored terrorists want to destabilize Pakistan, but the armed forces are thwarting their nefarious designs on a daily basis.
\nThe Governor said Pakistan is among the countries most affected by terrorism and paid rich tribute to the sacrifices of Pakistan Army soldiers in the war against terror. He saluted those who laid down their lives for the country and said the entire nation stands united with the armed forces in the fight against terrorism. He also expressed solidarity with the families of the martyrs in this hour of grief.
\nEarlier, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan attended the Orange Festival in Taxila as chief guest. The event was also attended by Prime Minister\u2019s Adviser Dr. Tauqeer Shah and foreign diplomats. Cultural activities including the traditional Taxila horse dance, weightlifting demonstrations, and Qawwali performances were presented during the festival.
\nAddressing the participants of the Orange Festival, the Governor said the entire nation is in mourning and has once again been plunged into grief. He said Pakistan has defeated terrorists in the past and will do so again, adding that Indian conspiracies will fail and Pakistan will always remain strong.
\nHe termed the organization of the Orange Festival a positive step and said the government is taking practical measures to promote Pakistan\u2019s cultural heritage.
\nHe added that such festivals help strengthen friendly relations with brotherly countries and provide foreign diplomats with an opportunity to learn about Taxila\u2019s rich historical and cultural legacy.
