\n\u201cI will not say anything until the report is submitted to the Supreme Court,\u201d says jailed leader\u2019s counsel

\nPakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan\u2019s health is fine, said Barrister Salman Safdar on Tuesday after meeting the jailed party leader at Central Jail Rawalpindi, commonly known as Adiala jail.
\nBarrister Safdar made the remarks following a three-hour long meeting with the PTI founder at the Adiala jail. The meeting took place after the Supreme Court allowed Barrister Safdar earlier today to meet the incarcerated former prime minister at Adiala jail, declaring the counsel \u201cfriend of the court\u201d.
\n\u201cIt is appropriate that a report be sought on the living conditions of the PTI founder. Barrister [Salman] Safdar should be given access to the barracks of the PTI founder so that he can give a written response,\u201d the court said.
\nDuring his interaction with journalists outside the Adiala jail, Barrister Safdar said that the jail authorities had given him \u201cfull access\u201d to the PTI founder.
\n\u201cI will not say anything until the report is submitted to the Supreme Court,\u201d he added.
\nThe SC had directed the lawyer to submit the report on Imran\u2019s living conditions by tomorrow (Wednesday).
\nThe move came a day after the SC had rejected a request seeking an \u201cimmediate meeting\u201d with the incarcerated party founder, observing that no such order could be passed without issuing prior notice to the government.
\nThe request for a meeting with the ousted prime minister was made by PTI senior leader Latif Khosa. The SC, however, had issued notice to the government for a meeting with the PTI founder on Tuesday (today).
\nKhosa filed the request weeks after the PTI founder was shifted from Adiala jail to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) for a \u201c20-minute\u201d eye procedure.
\nKhan, who has been in jail since August 2023, faces several cases ranging from corruption to terrorism, following his ouster from power through the opposition\u2019s no-confidence motion in April 2022.
\nSeparately, the PTI last week submitted a two-page memorandum to the SC registrar, requesting immediate jail visitation rights for Khan with his family, doctors, lawyers and friends.
\nThe PTI had alleged that Khan\u2019s rights as a prisoner and a human being have been consistently violated.
