The meeting was attended by MPA Abdul Karim Tordher, Irrigation Secretary Abdul Basit and other relevant officials, said a handout. Officials briefed the minister on various phases of the Pehur project, challenges encountered and the future course of action. They informed the meeting that work on Lot-II of the project was progressing at pace and was expected to be completed by May 31. Mr Khan directed authorities to further accelerate work while ensuring that quality standards were strictly maintained. He said timely completion of the project would significantly improve the irrigation system in Swabi and adjoining areas, enhance agricultural productivity and help resolve long-standing issues faced by farmers. He said that in line with the vision of Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi, the provincial government was working to modernise the irrigation system across the province to ensure sustainable development of the agriculture sector.
