Hundreds of Future, Current Healthcare Professionals Lead Anti-Obesity Drive with Landmark Margalla Hills Hike<\/p>\n

In a refreshing departure from lecture halls to lush hilltops, Islamabad Medical & Dental College joined hands with Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital, both flagship institutions of GAK HealthCare International, to stage a high-energy \u201cHike Against Obesity\u201d at Margalla Hiking Trail 3, transforming a routine morning into a living manifesto for wellness.<\/p>\n

The event opened with spirited color and symbolism, featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony and hiking competition.<\/p>\n

The initiative was orchestrated with precision by the IMDC Hike & Adventure Club under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ahmad Raza, whose team ensured the eco-friendly hike set a benchmark for responsible outdoor engagement.<\/p>\n

Over 700 participants, including students of medicine, dentistry, physical therapy, medical lab technology, and nursing alongside faculty members, practicing physicians and surgeons as well as healthcare management personnel marched up the scenic trail with enthusiasm. Senior leadership remained present throughout, appreciating and encouraging the hikers for their efforts to preserve the beauty of the hills by keeping the route litter-free.<\/p>\n

Addressing the gathering, Yasir Khan Niazi, Group CEO of GAK HealthCare, described the initiative as more than a recreational outing. He noted that such programs form a cornerstone of the college\u2019s vision to cultivate not only academically strong graduates but well-rounded professionals grounded in lifelong learning, ethical practices, community engagements and healthy lifestyle.<\/p>\n

Imran Ali Ghouri, Head of GAK HealthCare Communications told media that in a city often defined by policy debates and traffic buzz, the hills briefly echoed instead with laughter, footsteps, and a powerful message: the next generation of healthcare leaders is learning to prescribe wellness by living it. <\/p>\n

The day blended fitness with festivity, featuring music, interactive moments, and a lively prize distribution ceremony at the finish.
