On this occasion, Faisal Town Group reaffirmed its commitment, in line with its Vision 2040, to develop Faisal Hills into a model green housing society where environmental balance will be prioritized alongside modern infrastructure.*
\nAs part of this plantation drive, large-scale tree planting has commenced during the ongoing spring season. *A target of planting a total of 500,000 saplings has been set for the year 2026 to help restore forest areas* adversely affected by stone crushing activities. Environmental experts emphasize that such measures have become essential to combat rising pollution levels, smog, and the impacts of climate change.
\nThe plantation campaign was held at Faisal Hills and witnessed participation from representatives of various public and private sector organizations, students, and local residents. The formal launch of the campaign was marked by the release of green balloons, followed by the planting of hundreds of saplings as a renewed commitment to the restoration of the Margalla Hills ecosystem.
\nAddressing the participants, Members of the National Assembly Asiya Tanoli and Mohsin Ayub Khan appreciated the environmental protection initiatives undertaken by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb. They noted that in view of the growing environmental challenges, plantation drives of this nature are the need of the hour. They further stated that planting trees is a continuous charity and will not only help restore ecological balance but also ensure a cleaner and healthier environment for future generations.
\nSpeaking to the media, Chief Conservator of Forests Iftikhar-ul-Hassan Farooqi said that the vision of \u201cPlant for Pakistan\u201d is being translated into action under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb. He added that forest restoration is critical to addressing the challenges posed by climate change, and this initiative will help rehabilitate the affected forest areas of the Margalla Hills.
