\nThe Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority has issued strict directives for the immediate and effective implementation of the government-approved Ramzan Plan 2026 across the province, aiming to ensure the public has access to safe and hygienic food during the holy month.
\nAccording to an official statement issued here on Wednesday, the Director General Kashif Iqbal Jilani has issued instructions to all Divisional Deputy Directors (Inspection & Operations) and Assistant Directors Food Safety to enforce the plan rigorously, leaving no room for delay or compromise.
\nThe directives include comprehensive monitoring of markets, Ramzan bazaars, wholesale outlets, milk shops, bakeries, meat and poultry outlets, food processing units, and ready-to-eat food establishments. Special inspection drives will also be conducted during Iftar hours to check prepared foods and commonly consumed items.
\nDG Jilani emphasized a zero-tolerance policy against adulteration, unsafe food practices, and violations of food safety laws. He warned that strict legal action would be taken against violators under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority Act 2014, with no leniency.
\nThe plan prioritizes sampling and laboratory testing of high-consumption items including milk, dairy products, ghee, edible oils, spices, beverages, sweets, bakery items, meat, poultry, and prepared Iftar foods, ensuring rapid analysis and reporting wherever necessary.
\nField teams have been instructed to coordinate closely with district administrations, police, and other relevant departments to guarantee effective enforcement. All public complaints must be addressed promptly, with compliance and resolution reports submitted to headquarters without delay.
\nDivisional Deputy Directors will personally supervise operations, conduct weekly review meetings, and ensure evidence-based reporting. Daily performance updates will be uploaded to the online portal, along with a separate Ramzan monitoring report in the prescribed format.
