\nChairman of the Senate, Yousaf Raza Gilani, on Saturday, said that a mother language forms the very foundation of a person\u2019s identity, dignity, and cultural heritage.
\nIn his message on International Mother Language Day, he stated that a mother tongue not only defines who we are but also reflects our traditions, values, and rich cultural legacy.
\nHe noted that research consistently shows that children who begin their education in their mother tongue experience more balanced and effective cognitive development.
\n\u201cA mother language is a child\u2019s first voice and the custodian of inherited knowledge and traditions, playing a fundamental role in shaping personality and intellectual growth,\u201d he remarked.
\nThe Chairman Senate observed that Pakistan is a vibrant mosaic of languages. Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashto, Balochi, Saraiki, Brahui, Hindko, Hazarvi, and many others represent the nation\u2019s shared culture, history, traditional bonds, and historical narratives.
\nHe highlighted that Urdu continues to serve as a vital link language connecting the federating units; however, all languages spoken in Pakistan deserve equal respect and pride.
\nYousaf Raza Gilani further stated that Pakistan\u2019s mother languages have produced countless distinguished poets and writers whose literary contributions have earned national and international recognition.
\n\u201cThese languages are a priceless heritage passed down by our ancestors, and their preservation, promotion, and development are a collective responsibility,\u201d he said.
\nHe reaffirmed the commitment to coordinated and meaningful measures to safeguard and promote mother languages, ensuring that future generations remain connected to their cultural roots while further strengthening national cohesion and unity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
