ABBOTTABAD : The Directorate of Quality Enhancement (DQE), Abbottabad University of Science and Technology (AUST), successfully organized a Hands-on Training Workshop on Programme Review for Effectiveness and Enhancement (PREE) in alignment with the Pakistan Precepts, Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (PSG-2023), issued by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan. The training session was attended by Programme Team (PT) members from various academic departments of AUST and Focal Persons from affiliated public and private sector colleges\/institutes. The workshop aimed to strengthen Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) processes at the programme level and ensure effective implementation of the revised Quality Assurance Framework. Dr. Nauman Habib, Manager QEC, Pak-Austria Fachhochschule: Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (PAK-IAST), served as the Resource Person. He provided detailed guidance on PREE Standards, including programme mission and learning outcomes, curriculum design, faculty requirements, student support services, institutional policies, and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) mechanisms. Participants were trained on the preparation of Self-Assessment Reports (SARs), evidence-based evaluation, stakeholder engagement, and development of actionable implementation plans. Addressing the participants, Dr. Saifullah Khan, Director DQE, AUST, emphasized the strategic importance of adopting the PSG-2023 Revamped Framework. He highlighted the transition from compliance-based quality assurance to enhancement-driven, student-centered, and proactive quality practices. He also elaborated on the institutional roles of QEC\/ IQAE, IQC, Programme Teams, Deans, Heads of Departments, and affiliated colleges in strengthening academic quality and accountability. The workshop reflects AUST\u2019s continued commitment to capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and alignment with national and international quality assurance standards to enhance academic excellence and student learning outcomes.
