\nMissiles fired by the United States and Israel struck two schools in the town of Parand, southwest of Tehran, Iranian semiofficial media reported on Thursday, Al Jazeera has reported citing Iran\u2019s Fars news agency.
\nThe attack comes six days after what Iranian authorities described as a US\u2011Israeli strike on a girls\u2019 school in the southern city of Minab, which killed 165 schoolgirls and staff, most aged seven to 12, and wounded at least 95 others, Fars reported.
\nIranian officials said the Minab strike coincided with the start of a broader US\u2011Israeli military campaign against Iran, which has since triggered exchanges of fire across the Middle East.

\nIran\u2019s military said on Thursday that it had launched a drone attack against a US military site in Kuwait.
\n\u201cDrone units of the armed force\u2019s navy targeted a site of the US forces Camp Udairi in Kuwait using combat drones,\u201d the army said in a statement broadcast by state TV. Camp Buehring, formerly known as Udairi, is a major US military facility in northwestern Kuwait.
\nThe Iranian army also said it launched a drone attack on a US site in the Iraqi Kurdistan city of Erbil. \u201cThe headquarters of the American aggressor forces in Erbil, Iraq, was attacked by the army\u2019s ground forces\u2019 attack drones,\u201d the army said in a statement broadcast by state TV.
\nMeanwhile, Iran\u2019s state-run Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs has said that the death toll from US and Israeli strikes on the Islamic republic has risen to 1,230.
\nAFP was not in a position to verify the toll.
\n\u201cThe number of martyrs from the aggressive military attack carried out by criminal America and the usurping Israeli regime against the Islamic homeland had reached 1,230 as of March 5,\u201d the foundation said, according to Iran\u2019s official IRNA news agency.
\nAzerbaijan vows to respond after four injured by Iranian drones
\nAzerbaijan warned on Thursday that it was \u200cpreparing unspecified response measures after two Iranian drones flew across its border and injured four people in the Nakhchivan exclave, raising concern about further spillover of the conflict in the Middle \u200bEast.
\n\u201cThese attacks will not remain unanswered,\u201d the Azerbaijani defence ministry said in \u200ba statement.
\nIt added that it was investigating the types of drones used in the attack, and \u201cpreparing the necessary response measures to protect the \u200bterritorial integrity and sovereignty of the country and to ensure the safety of civilians \u200band civilian infrastructure\u201d.
\nIranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi denied Tehran had targeted Nakhchivan. \u201cWe do not attack our neighbouring countries,\u201d he told Azerbaijani outlet AnewZ.
\nThe foreign ministry earlier demanded that Iran \u201cclarify the \u200bmatter in the shortest possible time, provide an explanation and take the necessary \u200burgent measures to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future\u201d, adding that the incident \u201ccontributes \u200cto increased tensions in the region\u201d.
\nIt handed a note of protest to the Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan.
\nAzerbaijan and Iran already have tense relations over Baku\u2019s growing economic, energy and military ties to NATO member Turkey and Israel, and the escalating US\u2013Iran war risks \u200btouching off violence \u200bbetween the neighbours.
\nAzerbaijan said one drone fell on the terminal building of the Nakhchivan International Airport, which is approximately 10 kilometres across \u200bthe border from Iran, and another drone landed close to \u200ba school building in a nearby village.
\nThe four injured were taken to hospital, where they are in stable condition, the health ministry in the landlocked exclave of Azerbaijan bordering Armenia, Iran \u200band Turkey told Reuters.
\nVideo footage verified by Reuters \u200bshowed black smoke rising near the airport and damage to the skylight inside the terminal building.
\nSeparately, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) said one missile and six drones fell inside the country. The defence minister also said it had intercepted six ballistic missiles and 125 drones.

\nArab states in the Gulf, all close US allies\u2013some of which also \u200bhave close ties with Russia\u2013have come under \u200bIranian drone and missile attacks since the United States and Israel launched their air strikes on Iran on Saturday.
\nRussian President \u200bVladimir Putin spoke by phone to leaders of \u200bfour Arab Gulf states on Monday, offering to use Moscow\u2019s \u200cties to Iran to relay concerns about Tehran\u2019s strikes on oil infrastructure across the region.
\nRussia\u2019s Foreign Ministry in a statement on Thursday accused the US and Israel of \u200bdeliberately trying \u200bto draw Arab Gulf states into a wider conflagration.
