\nPESHAWAR
\nThe Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department seized a large quantity of narcotics in two separate operations in Khyber District and Peshawar, recovering 10 kilograms of heroin and 525 grams of crystal meth (Ice), while arresting a woman suspect and registering cases against the accused.
\nThe operations were carried out as part of the provincial government\u2019s zero-tolerance policy against narcotics, under which the Excise Department has intensified intelligence-based actions across the province to curb drug trafficking and protect society from the growing menace of drugs.
\nAccording to officials, the Excise Intelligence Squad in Khyber foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of heroin during an operation conducted under the supervision of Provincial In-charge Excise Intelligence Saud Khan Gandapur and Excise and Taxation Officer (Counter Narcotics Operations) Majid Khan.
\nDuring the operation, Inspector Zarjan Khan and Sub-Inspector Nasir Amir, along with other personnel, acted on a tip-off and intercepted a motor car bearing registration number LEB-7744. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 10,000 grams (10 kilograms) of heroin.
\nA case has been registered at the Excise Police Station in Khyber and further investigation was underway.
\nIn another operation, the Excise Police of the Peshawar region foiled a narcotics smuggling attempt and arrested a woman suspect. The action was conducted under the supervision of Mr Majid Khan.
\nStation House Officer Imad Khan, along with Sub-Inspector Sajjad Momand, a lady constable and other personnel, intercepted a suspicious woman near Doranpur Morr towards the motorway.
\nDuring a search conducted by the lady constable, 525 grams of Ice (crystal meth) was recovered from her possession. A case has been registered at the Excise Police Station Peshawar Region and further investigation has been initiated.
\nOfficials of the Excise Department said operations against drug traffickers would continue across the province with greater intensity, adding that strict action would be taken against those involved in narcotics trafficking to safeguard the younger generation from the menace of drugs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
