Islamabad: Army Chief General Raheel Sharif called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad on Monday.
\nDuring the meeting they discussed matters pertaining to national and regional security.
\nLocal media quoting sources said, in the meeting, the two leaders discussed three key issues that included India aggression at Line of Control, security situation at western borders and implementation on National Action Plan (NAP).
\nThe Army Chief briefed PM Nawaz over the success of operation Zarb-e-Azb and the plan of action by the security forces on the implementation on the NAP.
\nThe Premier expressed confidence in the response given by the Pakistan security forces against Indian aggression at LoC.
\nPrime Minister Nawaz Sharif was briefed over situation at the Line of Control (LoC) and Indian unprovoked firing.
\nSeparately, the Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan convened a meeting with the Prime Minister to brief him over progress in the probe regarding a controversial news story published in an English paper earlier this month.
\nA probe is underway that Nisar claimed on Thursday that would conclude within three to four days over a report that asserted of tensions between military and the civil leadership.
\nEarlier developments of the issue include the fact that the journalist was added to the Exit Control List (ECL) before the travel ban was lifted few days later over a backlash by journalists\u2019 community.
