CM Afridi vows to restore historical status of model educational institutions

\nThe Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to undertake a comprehensive revitalisation of model schools and model institutes across the province, with a working group formed to prepare a reform plan.
\nThe decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi at the Chief Minister\u2019s House in Peshawar to review the overall status of model educational institutions in the province, according to an official statement.
\nOfficials briefed the meeting on administrative arrangements, academic performance, human resource matters and infrastructure conditions of the existing model schools and institutes.
\nThe meeting constituted a dedicated working group to develop a comprehensive reform and revitalisation plan. The group will be headed by the provincial minister for elementary and secondary education.
\nAccording to officials, the working group has been tasked with carrying out a detailed assessment of challenges faced by the institutions, including issues related to teaching staff, human resources, infrastructure and institutional management.
\nBased on the review, the group will present a set of actionable recommendations to guide the government\u2019s reform efforts. The meeting also directed the relevant authorities to take necessary steps for the establishment of model schools in Haripur and Khyber districts.
\nSpeaking on the occasion, the chief minister said the government was committed to restoring the historical stature of model educational institutions and transforming them into exemplary centres of learning.
\nHe said comprehensive reforms aligned with modern educational standards would be introduced in these institutions to ensure quality and contemporary education for students.
\nMr Afridi said the provincial government was taking practical measures to improve the quality of public sector education and that all available resources would be mobilised on a priority basis to achieve this objective.
\nHe added that model schools had long been regarded as symbols of quality and excellence in the education system and were meant to provide students with a conducive learning environment through modern teaching methods, enhanced academic activities and improved facilities, while also serving as benchmark institutions for other public sector schools.
\nThe chief minister emphasised that achieving the intended objectives of these institutions was essential for restoring public confidence in the public education system and improving overall educational standards in the province.
