\nDeputy Commissioner Abbottabad, Sarmad Saleem Akram, has directed all concerned departments to ensure comprehensive security, effective traffic management, and uninterrupted civic services during Eid-ul-Fitr, emphasizing strict enforcement of Section 144 to maintain law and order across the district.
\nThe directives were issued during a meeting which was attended by officials from various district departments. The meeting reviewed in detail the arrangements for public safety, traffic flow, availability of essential services, and facilitation of citizens during the festive occasion.
\nThe Deputy Commissioner instructed police to formulate a comprehensive security plan for Eidgahs, mosques, and Imambargahs, while ensuring a complete ban on aerial firing and fireworks during Chand Raat and Eid days under Section 144.
\nHe also ordered increased patrolling in markets and the deployment of both male and female personnel in view of the expected rush.
\nTraffic police were directed to take strict action against one-wheeling, over-speeding, and helmet violations, and to ensure proper parking arrangements near major congregational sites. Authorities were also asked to curb overcharging of fares and prevent any artificial shortage of transport vehicles to facilitate passengers traveling to their hometowns.
\nTo ensure the availability of essential food items at official prices, price control magistrates have been activated for special market monitoring. The Halal Food Authority will conduct joint inspections with magistrates from March 17 to 20, focusing on hygiene standards, bakeries, sweet shops, and the quality of cooking oil.
\nThe Deputy Commissioner further directed that the District Control Room remain operational round the clock, particularly to assist tourists visiting Galiyat and other scenic areas. Relevant authorities, including Galiyat Development Authority, Traffic Police, and Tourism Police, have been instructed to ensure effective services and management at tourist destinations.
\nHospitals have been directed to ensure staff availability, while Rescue 1122 has been placed on high alert to respond to emergencies. A ban under Section 144 has also been imposed on entering rivers, streams, dams, and boating activities to prevent accidents.
\nAdditionally, the National Highway Authority and PKHA have been directed to carry out necessary road repairs, install signboards and reflectors, and remove unnecessary speed breakers.
\nSpecial instructions have also been issued to ensure functional street lights, cleanliness of Eidgahs, and provision of basic facilities across the city.
