1,700 fresh Engineering Graduates selected

\nThe Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) conducted the digital balloting for the second batch of its flagship Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) Placement Program, selecting 1,700 fresh engineering graduates for six-month industry training across the country.
\nThe ceremony was held at the PEC Regional Office Lahore, where Chairman PEC Engr. Waseem Nazir inaugurated the process, while senior officials from PEC Headquarters and PEC Governing Body members joined online.
\nA total of 5,300 candidates applied online for the program, out of which 3,982 were shortlisted after screening, and 1,700 were finally selected through a transparent digital balloting mechanism. PEC officials highlighted that the program is being implemented through dedicated online portals for both employers and engineers, with partnerships established with leading public and private sector organizations nationwide to provide structured training opportunities.
\nOut of the total placements, 300 seats were exclusively allocated for engineering graduates from Balochistan, all of which have been filled by candidates from the province.
\nThe remaining 1,400 candidates were selected from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Chairman Engr. Waseem Nazir stated that the dedicated allocation for Balochistan graduates has been introduced to expand opportunities for the province\u2019s youth, address longstanding socio-economic disparities, and promote their effective mainstreaming into the national engineering workforce.
\nAddressing the ceremony, Chairman PEC Engr. Waseem Nazir described the GET program as a transformative initiative aimed at equipping young engineers with practical, industry-oriented skills.
\nHe said PEC remains committed to ensuring merit, transparency, and equal opportunity across all regions, adding that the inclusion of a full quota for Balochistan reflects the Council\u2019s resolve to create a more balanced and inclusive professional landscape.
\nHe further emphasized that investing in fresh graduates will strengthen Pakistan\u2019s engineering capacity and support sustainable national development.
\nThe GET program is a fully PEC-funded, six-month \u201chouse job\u201d style initiative, including five months of field exposure and one month of skill development, with a monthly stipend of PKR 50,000 and a jointly issued certificate with QR code verification upon successful completion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
