\nThe Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has introduced comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure transparency and merit in recruitments across key departments, following directives from the Secretary of Climate Change and public input gathered during an e-Khuli Kachehri.
\nThe Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Climate Change, Forests, Environment and Wildlife has finalised a structured mechanism for recruitment in the Forest Department, Wildlife Department, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Pakistan Forest Institute (PFI), aiming to ensure fair and credible hiring practices.
\nAccording to an official statement, the new framework mandates prior approval in the form of a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Finance Department before any vacant post can be filled. Examination schedules will be determined in coordination with the Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA), which will also conduct written tests for candidates.
\nVacancies will be advertised in national newspapers to ensure wider outreach and equal opportunity, in line with government rules. For posts such as Forest Guard, physical tests will be conducted in collaboration with district police authorities under applicable laws.
\nInterviews will be carried out by a duly constituted selection committee headed by the relevant appointing authority. To ensure transparency, all key information, including final merit lists, will be displayed on official websites and notice boards of the respective institutions.
\nThe statement added that a formal grievance redressal mechanism would be established within each institution to address complaints efficiently.
\nThe department reaffirmed that the entire recruitment process would strictly follow ESTACODE and other applicable regulations, with officials directed to ensure compliance in letter and spirit.
