\nThe Awami National Party (ANP) on Friday strongly condemned a suicide attack in Tehsil Domail of Bannu, which left five people dead, including three women, and several others injured.
\nANP provincial president Mian Iftikhar Hussain, in a statement, termed the attack \u201chighly condemnable\u201d and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives. \u201cThe elements who targeted unarmed and innocent citizens do not even deserve to be called human beings,\u201d he said.
\nHe extended heartfelt sympathy and solidarity to the bereaved families and prayed for the departed souls. \u201cMay Allah Almighty elevate the ranks of the martyrs and grant a speedy recovery to the injured,\u201d he added.
\nANP leader warned that the security situation in the province was deteriorating with each passing day, alleging that people were \u201cpaying with their blood for temporary and failed policies.\u201d
\nHe criticised what he described as a lack of seriousness and weak counterterrorism strategy, claiming that militant groups had regrouped and become more organised. \u201cReports of terrorists openly patrolling in different districts are deeply alarming,\u201d he said.
\nReferring to past decisions, he said the situation might have been different had \u201csteps like the resettlement of terrorists\u201d not been taken. He held those responsible for facilitating and supporting such policies accountable for the current unrest, adding that no action had so far been taken against those involved.
\nThe ANP leader also criticised both the provincial and federal governments, accusing them of shifting blame instead of addressing the crisis. He stressed that maintaining law and order was the primary responsibility of the provincial government, but alleged it was not being treated as a priority. At the same time, he said, the federal government could not absolve itself of responsibility.
\nMr Hussain called for a \u201cclear, coherent and consistent\u201d policy to combat terrorism, reiterating that his party remained firm in its stance against extremism. \u201cNo compromise will be accepted on peace, justice, and the protection of life and property,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
