\nThe Women Wing of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa organized a dignified and well-attended ceremony to mark the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, where participants paid rich tribute to his political, democratic, and national services.
\nA large number of women attended the event, reflecting strong emotional and ideological attachment to Bhutto\u2019s legacy. The ceremony featured speeches highlighting his contributions to democracy, public empowerment, and national sovereignty.
\nChairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme, Rubina Khalid, graced the occasion as the chief guest. In her address, she termed April 4 as one of the darkest days in Pakistan\u2019s history, stating that the nation lost a visionary and courageous leader whose absence is still deeply felt.
\nShe emphasized that leaders like Zulfikar Ali Bhutto are born once in centuries, and his political philosophy continues to inspire generations. She credited him for laying the foundation of Pakistan\u2019s nuclear program, making the country\u2019s defense strong and independent, while also acknowledging Benazir Bhutto for advancing missile technology.
\nRubina Khalid further stated that PPP governments delivered record development projects and empowered citizens by introducing systems like national identity cards and passports. She asserted that Pakistan\u2019s future lies in the ideology of \u201cBhuttoism,\u201d centered on democracy, equality, and public welfare.
\nCriticizing the current government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, she said that an imposed administration has caused setbacks for the province. She reiterated that the people of KP have always stood with Pakistan since its creation alongside Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and continue to support the armed forces.
\nShe warned that certain elements are attempting to instill anti-state narratives among the youth, but made it clear that PPP will never support forces working against Pakistan. \u201cWe are Pakistanis first, before any ethnic identity,\u201d she stressed.
\nConcluding her speech, Rubina Khalid said that Bhutto sacrificed his life for the country but never compromised on principles, urging the younger generation to follow his courage, resilience, and commitment.
