\nChairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Sohail Ashraf, presided over the 3rd CDA Board meeting held on Thursday at CDA Headquarters. The meeting was attended by Member Administration Esfandyar Baloch, Member Estate Zaman Wattoo, Member Environment Abdullah Khurram Niazi, Member Finance, Planning and Design Muhammad Umair, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza and Professor Dr. Muhammad Ali, Vice Chancellor of Punjab University. Several agenda items were discussed during the 3rd CDA board meeting.
\nA significant decision was taken regarding the reduction in transfer fee charged by CDA on property transfers. The existing transfer fee was reduced from 3 percent. This decision will not only promote investment in Islamabad but will also bring improvement in the housing and real estate sector. The reduction in fee will provide direct relief and benefit to citizens involved in buying and selling properties.
\nChairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Sohail Ashraf, said that instead of increasing property taxes in the Federal Capital, Islamabad efforts should be made to broaden the tax base. CDA Board also approved the award of contract for hiring Creative Consultants (City Curator) to transform Islamabad into a cultural and tourism hub.
\nThe meeting was informed that all procurement processes and legal requirements for acquiring the services of Creative Consultants have been duly fulfilled.
\nChairman CDA Sohail Ashraf said that this initiative will prove to be a milestone in improving the cultural and tourism sectors of the Federal Capital, Islamabad. He further said that hiring Creative Consultants will significantly enhance the landscaping and beautification of parks and green belts and help transform Islamabad into a modern, attractive and vibrant city.
\nCDA Board also deliberated on the outsourcing of solid waste management (Package I and II) for Islamabad. Based on the recommendations of the Grievance Redressal Committee and Procurement Committee, it was decided to terminate the ongoing procurement process.
\nIt was further decided to review successful models from other cities and restart the outsourcing process for solid waste management. Chairman CDA Sohail Ashraf said that after reviewing the best models from other cities, an immediate, sustainable and efficient system will be adopted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
