Shah directs to ensure the deployment of medical staff in remote and underdeveloped areas

\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah has said that improving the health sector and ensuring timely provision of quality medical facilities remain among the government\u2019s top priorities under the Good Governance Roadmap.
\nThe remarks came during a meeting chaired by the chief secretary to review progress on the implementation of the Good Governance Roadmap in the health sector and measures aimed at improving healthcare facilities across the province.
\nOfficials informed the meeting that, on the directives of the chief minister, the health department is undertaking practical steps to strengthen service delivery. In this regard, the recruitment of around 2,500 medical personnel on a contract basis is under way to address shortages of doctors, nurses and dental surgeons.
\nThe breakdown of the planned recruitment includes 1,425 doctors, 250 dental surgeons and 764 nurses, participants were told.
\nTo ensure merit and transparency, multiple interview panels have been constituted at the divisional level to expedite the recruitment process. The meeting was further informed that candidates will also be facilitated through virtual interviews, while scrutiny of applications is currently in progress ahead of formal interviews.
