\nManchester City beat stumbling Arsenal 2-1 on Sunday to seize control of the Premier League title race as Liverpool strengthened their push for a Champions League place.
\nMikel Arteta\u2019s Gunners have been in pole position for months but are wobbling at the worst time as they seek to win the English title for the first time in 22 years.
\nErling Haaland was City\u2019s match-winner, netting in the 65th minute after Rayan Cherki\u2019s superb opener was cancelled out by Kai Havertz, who took advantage of a huge blunder by City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
\nArteta was on his knees in the closing moments as Havertz headed over the bar when presented with a golden chance to equalise.
\nThe result in front of City\u2019s jubilant fans means that if Pep Guardiola\u2019s side were to win their match at lowly Burnley in midweek, they would be top of the table.
\nCity are now in pole position to win their seventh Premier League title in nine seasons, while Arsenal face the agony of finishing second for the fourth straight season.

\nThe club, who have not won the Premier League since 2004, have suffered just seven defeats in 55 matches this season in all competitions, but four of those have come in their past six games.
\n\u201cWe went very close but not close enough and now we have to accept we lost an opportunity today, a big one, but there are still five games to go,\u201d said Arteta.
\n\u201cWe need to reset and go again because there are a lot of positives to take from the game.\u201d
