{"id":544204,"date":"2026-05-02T02:18:01","date_gmt":"2026-05-01T21:18:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=544204"},"modified":"2026-05-02T02:18:01","modified_gmt":"2026-05-01T21:18:01","slug":"cpi-records-inflation-at-10-9pc-in-april","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/cpi-records-inflation-at-10-9pc-in-april\/","title":{"rendered":"CPI records inflation at 10.9pc in April"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> ISLAMABAD<br \/>\nThe core inflation measured by Consumer Price Index (CPI) CPI inflation increased by 10.9 percent on year-on-year (YoY) basis in April 2026 as compared to an increase of 7.3 percent in the previous month and 0.3 percent in April 2025, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported on Friday.<br \/>\nOn month-on-month (MoM) basis, it increased by 2.5 percent in April 2026 as compared to an increase of 1.2 percent in the previous month and a decrease of 0.8 percent in April 2025.<br \/>\nAccording to PBS data, CPI inflation urban, increased by 11.1 percent on year-on-year basis in April 2026 as compared to an increase of 7.4 percent in the previous month and an increase of 0.5 percent in April 2025.<br \/>\nOn month-on-month basis, it increased by 2.7 percent in April 2026 as compared to an increase of 1.3 percent in the previous month and a decrease of 0.7 percent in April 2025.<br \/>\nCPI inflation rural, increased by 10.6 percent on year-on-year basis in April 2026 as compared to an increase of 7.2 percent in the previous month and a decrease of 0.1 percent observed in April 2025. On month-on-month basis, it increased by 2.1 percent in April 2026 as compared to an increase of 1.0 percent in the previous month and a decrease of 1.0 percent in April 2025<br \/>\nThe Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) inflation on YoY basis increased by 10.1 percent in April 2026 as compared to an increase of 5.6 percent in the previous month and a decrease of 3.6 percent in April 2025. On MoM basis, it increased by 2.0 percent in April 2026 as compared to an increase of 0.7 percent in the previous month and a decrease of 2.1 percent in April 2025.<br \/>\nThe Wholesale Price Index inflation on YoY basis increased by 13.6 percent in April 2026 as compared to an increase of 6.7 percent in the previous month and a decrease of 2.2 percent in April 2025.
